Business Retention & Expansion Program (BREP)
In 1997, the Governor’s office and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) established an innovative outreach program to help assess business growth and success issues facing existing employers.
The Business Retention and Expansion Program (BREP) is a proactive outreach program intended to assist with the retention and expansion of current businesses and jobs throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
BREP is a business calling program where outreach specialists meet face-to-face with company executives to gain insight into the local business climate from the company's perspective and learn what issues and concerns it faces. All information remains confidential.
In turn, in response to the needs and requests of the company, the outreach specialists can supply business financing resource information, workforce development and training assistance information, and provide referrals for additional programs and service providers.
The BREP program is intended to assist officials gain a better understanding of and improve Pennsylvania’s business climate, ultimately making Pennsylvania a better place for business.
Since 1997, outreach specialists in Lancaster County have visited more than 1,700 companies.
