Economic Development Loan Closer
Economic Development Company of Lancaster County/www.edclancaster.com (a private not-for-profit entity) provides staff services to EDC Finance Corporation/www.edcfinancecorp.com (a fully separate private, not-for-profit entity). EDC Finance provides access to a variety of economic, community and agricultural development lending programs (e.g. PA First Industries Fund and U.S. Small Business Administration 504 program) throughout South-Central Pennsylvania.
The Economic Development Loan Closer position (part-time, 20 hours/week, though a full-time opportunity may exist for right candidate) will help to close a steady flow of approved commercial, agricultural, and redevelopment financing projects through the lending resources available to EDC Finance – with a focus on SBA 504 loans. The Economic Development Closer position will report directly to the EDC President, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Director of Finance.
The Economic Development Loan Closer position is a part-time position (20 hours/week), though a full-time opportunity may exist for right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be familiar with and/or learn Small Business Administration 504 program closing requirements and other program closing requirements as required.
- Work with borrowers, borrower’s counsel, title insurance professionals, EDC Finance counsel, EDC staff, and others to ensure timely and accurate loan closings.
- Ideally have experience and training helpful for transitioning quickly into an effective part of the closing team (e.g. law firm, bank or title company closing experience).
- Meet potential borrowers throughout South-Central Pennsylvania; explain loan closing requirements; and shepherd projects through closing and funding.
- Process follow-up information requests for closed loans.
- Become knowledgeable in state and federal funding programs administered by EDC Finance in order to better serve clients/borrowers.
- Attend training programs for state and federal programs administered by EDC Finance Corporation.
- Participate in the variety of projects and activities of EDC and EDC Finance as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have an educational and business background that would be beneficial in learning to close SBA 504, state and other federal program loans. Specific experience and training in the closing/lending field is desired.
- Be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
- Be familiar with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
COMPENSATION
- Annual salary to be based upon experience.
- Participation in EDC’s benefits package as defined for part-time employees.
- Reimbursement for mileage and personal expenses incurred in relation to business duties.
